This is the basic diver qualification, once qualified you will be able to dive to a depth of 20m

The course consists of lectures, pool sessions, open water training and a multiple choice exam. No prior diving experience is required we only ask that you can swim eight lengths of the pool (200m) unaided.

The ocean diver course costs £192.50. This includes a years membership of BSAC and the branch, a student folder, workbook, qualification record, diving manual and set of equipment. We realise that this may be a large sum to fork out all at once so if you prefer you may pay quarterly. Baths sessions (£2.50) for adults, any entry fee to diving sites and a diving suit are not included in the price, as you pay these only when you attend.

Once you have qualified as an ocean diver it is best to progress on to the Sport Diver course this allows you to get the most out of your diving and the other courses available through the BSAC.
